PHILOSOPHY of GIVING
At ‘Basil & Thyme’ we pride ourselves in being a community-oriented organization. Providing nutritious food to children is only a portion of our service to the community.
The founder, Mr. Mehdi Khoshnevis, started ‘Basil & Thyme’ with a philosophy built around giving. It is fair that we share some of Mehdi’s story and thoughts with you here:
“It is my passion to enrich people’s lives using my abilities. I found myself buying food for the homeless on a regular basis. Feeding people, especially the ones who are in need is fulfilling and rewarding for me.
The desire for enhancement is inherent in all of nature.
I don’t believe in worldly ratios & transactions when it comes to giving and receiving. I believe in giving more in use value than the cash value I receive”. As John Wesley put it:
- Do all the good you can
- By all the means you can
- In all the ways you can
- In all the places you can
- At all the times you can
- To all the people you can
- As long as ever you can.
